Waiting for the Snow to Melt

Today was a beautiful, warm day! You may have noticed that I have not posted any winter pictures: this is because I cannot stand to be cold and only have a handful of snow pics. Though, I am determined to attempt winter photography next winter. Either way, I can’t wait for it to get warm again so that I can go outside with my camera!

This year I am hoping to get more variety in my collection. I will be travelling to Saskatchewan, so I will photograph prairie scenes and hopefully a few of their magnificent thunderstorms. I will also be travelling to Nicaragua, but am expecting to be too busy to be photographing. I will definitely try to get a few snapshots from there, too.

Also, I have been working on photographing portraits of people. This is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I have had a lot of help and tips from a member of the church that I attend.

The Song of Solomon is For Single Christians, Too

I have been following along with Thru the Bible’s study on the book of the Song of Solomon. http://www.ttb.org

At first I was hesitant to enter into a book that is stereotyped as “just for married people”. I am glad that I decided to go ahead and listen, though. The teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, puts all of the focus on the Christian’s relationship with Jesus as His bride.

The next picture that I will be posting is titled Come Away and has Song of Solomon 2:10 on it.

My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

“SABBATH – Here’s Your Sign” – Feb 7

A DEVOTED LIFE

“Above all you shall keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.”  Exodus 31:13

Bill Engvall is a comedian best known for his “Here’s Your Sign” comedy routine.  His routine rests on the premise that stupid people need to wear signs that just say, “I’m Stupid”.  That way we won’t rely on them.   We wouldn’t ask them anything.  It would be like, “Excuse me…oops, never mind. I didn’t see your sign.”  I don’t know if it is funny or sad that his stories are mostly true.  Here are a couple links to Bill Engvall’s routine:

My friends and I have very ungraciously followed Bill Engvall’s lead with each other.  Maybe it is a guy thing, but there is nothing quite like the joy of making your…

News Update

I have been accepted on a missions trip to Nicaragua! I will be going with Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child this coming summer. We will be handing out shoeboxes to children and presenting the gospel to them as well. All money that I earn from photography from now until July will be going towards funding this trip.

Also, my computer is acting up and I have not been able to upload new photographs to either Facebook, WordPress, or FineArtAmerica. I am hoping to have the problem fixed soon, but until then I will not be able to upload. I am still working in the background, though!

Psalm 19:1 NKJV

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

I added Psalm 19:1 to this photo that I took of geese sitting on a log. My mom requested to have this Scripture added and she will be gifting this photo to my Grandma.
